EYE OPENING CULTURE TRAVEL WITH ENKIDU |
Educational Travel and adventures into
the past and present of Mexico
|
The tours listed below focus on specific archaeological sites, local fiestas, customs,
rituals, beliefs, arts and traditions in villages and communities
throughout the region. Each tour has a specific theme and is guided by
multilingual guides with specific knowledge about the site or community,
for instance anthropologists who have conducted ethnographic fieldwork in
the region, and/or individuals with local roots with a desire to give you
an insider view of their reality. Our tours bring you to the most
remarkable places, perhaps you will learn to prepare tortillas in the
kitchen of a local family or perhaps the local bruja (witch) will cure
your cold with traditional herbs and methods.... Be prepared for the
unexpected. We do not just open your eyes, but we also open doors for you
that remain closed for most regular tourists
Enkidu's eye opening
programs for travelers in Mexico go far beyond fixed packages and
tours produced for the mass market. All daytrips and city tours with an
Enkidu personal guide, will be tailored in accordance with your specific
interests, individual tastes, needs and schedules to the largest extent
possible. We have in
the past offered several "traditional" tours with fixed
schedules and programs for visitors to Mexico, but in
reality almost all the tours we have done have been
customized to some extent and adjusted to the schedules,
priorities and interests of our guests. Also
the “standard tours” liked the ones listed below have been tailored for individual travelers
and small groups (max. 5 guests per guide), which allows for
flexibility and improvisation regarding schedules and
itineraries. Therefore each tour will to some extent be an
unique experience for the guide, as well as for the guests.
Each group will also be unique.
With
the exception of our special events programs
the tours listed on our pages should therefore be regarded
as examples of the kind of tours we do. All of these tours
can be done at any time of the year for small groups or
individual travelers and can be tailored to fit your
interests, schedules and priorities. Any personalized tour program can be created upon prior
request. We have a special expertise for the area to the
south of Mexico City, but Enkidu
Explorations and Adventures can be arranged to almost anywhere in
Mexico. We have guides with special competence for cities
like Merida, Guadalajara, Taxco, Cuernavaca and Acapulco in
addition to Mexico City. If you are interested
in any of our offers, or would like us to design a program
for you, we recommend that you fill in this form.
Here you can provide as much information as you want. Based
in the information you provided in the form, one of our
travel or adventure consultants will design a preliminary
program with some suggestions and options for you within 48
hours. After hearing your reactions and comments, we will
design a final program for your stay.
