| Households
participating in our home stay program for
international travelers and students in Mexico
have an unique opportunity to share their culture
and learn about other cultures as well as making
new friends from all over the world. Hosting
participants in our eye-opening programs, give you
a chance to experience the world without leaving
home! Our guests have different religious
practices, linguistic backgrounds, cultures,
professions and ethnic backgrounds. And our host
families opening their hearts and homes to our
guests represent a wide variety of backgrounds. In
fact, the only thing they have in common is a
desire to broaden their perspective of the
world.
The length of a
stay ranges from a couple of days, or a weekend to
a couple of months and the payment varies
according to the services your household offers
and the length of the stay of the guest but in most cases a host
household is paid between 125 and 250 pesos per
night for providing accommodation and 2 or 3 meals
a day. After submitting the form below, a
representative for Enkidu will contact you within
48 hours and discuss the details with you.
Most of our guests
take language immersion courses at the Enkidu
Cultural Center, or participate in our eye opening
tours, expeditions and other activities for
travelers based in Mexico City. We are therefore
always looking for potential host households in
the Metropolitan Area. In addition, we would also
like to get in touch with household in all other
parts of Mexico who would like to host an
international guest (participants in our GBLT
travel programs) for a night or a weekend.
We are currently in
particular looking for possible host households in
the states of Oaxaca, Guerrero, Morelos and
Yucatan. We organize tours and expeditions for
international travelers to several sites and
locations in these areas all year. In
addition we are looking for households in
Monterrey, Guadalajara and Puebla during the local
pride weekends this summer. Enkidu organizes pride
tours for international visitors to each of these
locations in 2004.
