Fees Language Courses

Regular Courses:

The Enkidu Cultural Center is open all year and students may begin classes at any Monday throughout the year. All regular programs include intensive Spanish instruction 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. Individual instruction is also offered on Saturdays if the student so wishes. Every second week the Enkidu Cultural Center organises local excursions to interesting spots in Central Mexico of a day's duration. All program related travel (including museum entrance fees etc.) is included in the course fee. New students arriving in Mexico City will be picked up at the airport (or bus station) and brought to their  host famliy at no extra cost. The registration fee should be paid at the time of the application, at the latest 10 days before arrival in Mexico City. The registration fee is only refundable if Enkidu Cultural Center cancels a program for any reason. Applications are accepted at any time, but should normally be received at least 2 weeks before the start of a program.   

The course fees are stated in US$. Payments via bank transfer and credit card (Visa, American Express, MasterCard accepted) can be made in Euros (€), US$ or Mexican Pesos.

Homestay in a Mexican Household

(includes 3 meals a day)

All households selected by Enkidu to host students are gblt-friendly, and prepared to open their homes to all students regardless of ethnicity, race, gender or sexual orientation. The households are always located in areas with good access to public transportation to the Enkidu Cultural Center.  

Shared room and board

US $ 175.00 per week ($25 daily)

Private room and board

US $ 210.00 per week ($30 daily)

Long Term Stays

For those students planing to stay in Mexico City for a longer period of time (more than 4 weeks), some families offer a discount for a room and board (mostly ca. 10 - 25% less per week). Some families are also prepared to let you continue to rent the room after the course has ended, so if you are intending to stay in Mexico for an extended period before or after your course at the Enkidu Cultural Center, we can help you to find a reasonable accomodation in a Mexican home.  

Hotels and Apartments

If you prefer to live independently, you may also rent a furnished apartment for yourself, or we will make an hotel reservation for you. We have special arrangements with a number of hotels and can offer special prices in hotels in all categories. 

Education material is included in all special programs.

Nahuatl Language and Culture

Introduction to classical Nahuatl

Classical Nahuatl: intermediate level: (including an introduction to the interpretation and analysis of primary Nahuatl sources in Archivo General de la Nación, and visits to a contemporary Nahuatl speaking community as well as archeological excavations):

Reading Silence: Introduction to the history of homosexuality in Mexico before and after the conquest. 

GBLT- realities in contemporary Mexico: A workshop in cooperation with various GBLT-organisations in Mexico

Introduction to Latin American Literature

Special Program for development aid workers, missionaries, culture workers, social workers, medical personel or others intending to work with GBLT - street children, victims of AIDS, drug addicts and/or prostitutes in Mexico.
