Sonora: A
traditional market where everything you need for witchcraft of all kinds
can be bought as well as herbs and mixtures used in traditional Mexican
medicine. The fact sheet to this tour also contains a couple of
authentic recipes for love portions recorded by the Spanish Inquisition
in Mexico during an investigation of a witchcraft case in the early 17th
century...
Merced is one of
the biggest markets in Mexico City, and almost everything from tame
lizards and dried rattle snakes to fake Gucci bags and modern
interpretations of Aztec warrior costumes can be bought here.
Tepito is... well,
it must be experienced... (We recently had an interesting discussion
about our tours to Tepito in our yahoo-community. The messages are
reproduced here).
Santa Fé is the
total contrast to the other markets we visit during this tour. It is one
of the most up-to-date shopping malls in the country...
If you have a couple of
hours extra, this tour can also include a trip to the enormous and
colourful flower markets in Xochimilco, which we absolutely
recommend.
